Are you a compassionate and dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children? We are actively seeking a skilled and empathetic individual to join our team as a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Newark.
Responsibilities:
- Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and a nurturing environment, helping children cope with challenges and develop positive coping mechanisms.
- Supervision: Maintain a safe and secure environment by closely supervising children during daily activities and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
- Daily Living Skills: Support children in developing essential life skills, including cooking, cleaning, and other activities that promote independence.
- Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours and promote positive conduct.
- Educational Support: Assist with homework, educational activities, and engagement in learning to support children’s academic development.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with children, their families, and other professionals involved in their care. Report any significant changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document observations, incidents, and interactions with children in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Promoting Social Interaction: Encourage and facilitate social interactions among children to foster a sense of community and belonging.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including social workers, therapists, and healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises or emergencies promptly and appropriately, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and rights of the children, ensuring they have access to appropriate services and resources.
- Supporting Independence: Encourage and support children in making decisions and choices that promote their independence and autonomy.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in healthcare, especially in caring for children.
- Compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to various care needs.
- Relevant experience covering at least 6 months within a UK-based healthcare company.
